Mindfulness for Families
Mindfulness for families is an invite to parents and children to explore mindfulness practice of paying attention, here and now, with kindness and curiosity. As children and adolescents practice attending to the breath and resting in the brief pauses between breaths, they experience a natural, reliable stillness and quietness within themselves. Studies of mindfulness meditation have emphasized its value as a stress management technique. The class is intended for parents and children (ages 4-18). The practice explored during these sessions have been proven to decrease anxiety in students, improve emotional regulation skills and increase self-esteem. Participants who have taken this class have reported an increased sense of calmness, relaxation and self-acceptance as well as becoming less emotionally reactive and more compassionate with themselves as well as others.
Registration Deadline: Class registration will close 24 hours before the beginning of the course. If you have any questions about joining the class after registration has closed, please contact Trinell Meyer, contact information below.
