 s to apply trauma informed\, relationship-based interventions\, and tap in
 to resilience to promote healing and relational repair in families.\n\nStr
 engthening resilience affects every domain in children's development\, fam
 ily relationships\, and health outcomes. Dr. Reyes will present real tools
  to help families recover from trauma\, forced family separation\, institu
 tional racism\, and toxic fear in support of the well being of young child
 ren and their families.\n\n<b>About Dr. Vilma Reyes</b>\nDr. Vilma Reyes i
 s an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California\, San Fr
 ancisco in the Child Trauma Research Program. Since 2009\, she has been pr
 oviding Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) services\, training\, clinical su
 pervision\, consultation and coordinating community-based mental health ou
 treach services and evaluation. She is a national trainer in CPP and has c
 o-authored articles and chapters on CPP theory and application. \n\nDr. Re
 yes developed a CPP-based group intervention\, Building Bridges\, which ha
 s been applied and researched in several community settings including 7 fa
 mily shelters across 3 counties in the Bay Area\, CA. This intervention wa
 s adapted to the displaced community in Bogota\, Colombia and the Afro-Col
 ombian community in Tumaco\, Colombia. This adaptation\, Semillas de Apego
 \, is being researched in two randomized controlled studies with a sample 
 size of over 1\,200 families. Dr. Reyes has presented this research at nat
 ional and international conferences\, including the International Society 
 for Traumatic Stress Studies.\n\nIn addition to her Doctorate degree in Cl
 inical Psychology\, Dr. Reyes has also earned a Master of Arts in Educatio
 n and has experience offering consultation\, supervision and training in t
 rauma informed systems in school-based settings. Dr. Reyes is an immigrant
  from Peru and is devoted to increasing access to trauma informed services
  for Latinx immigrant families. She has done several lectures in national 
 conferences on the intersection of immigration and trauma\; with a focus o
 n asylum seekers and refugees exposed to armed conflict\, systemic oppress
 ion and racism. \n
